Prashant

"Shaping stories, ideas, and experiences that move people."

My Why

Having been acquainted and fascinated by the subject matter of The Mahābhārata since childhood in a more visual manner through dramas, my curiosity reawakened during undergraduate studies to explore the written version. After reading a number of versions, and with curiosity still not satisfied, and now in my professional life, I decided to seek the more comprehensive, older versions. Leading me to the wonderful, artistic works of Mr Kisari Mohan Ganguli, who had translated the 100,000 word version from Sanskrit to Victorian Prose, the authenticity stood somewhat clearer.

Seeing the old echo in the new, a sense of responsibility to share arose, bringing to bear this initiative with The Mahabharata.org, whereby a sense of loyalty to the authenticity of the stories is intended to be balanced with the need to bring forth the relevance in the World as we know it today as Veda-Vyāsaḥ originally intended.

Background

United Kingdom

1983-2012

Born & raised in the United Kingdom, I met some of the best mentors and senior figures that continue to inspire to this day both professionally and in the works on Vedic literature.

Hong Kong

2012-2020

Having moved to Hong Kong without having ever visited, it was thoroughly one of the most beautiful periods, of discovery, serenity, and reflection.

Singapore

2020-

Arriving in Singapore I welcomed the change of pace, and more time for inward reflection and contemplation, paving way for a higher level of readiness to convey what I read, and learn.
